So much is hard to change about ourselves, and some is perhaps impossible. But boy oh boy, what little control we DO have can make an enormous difference. Thank you for breaking it all down.
As a silver lining to the virus mania (congrats on you and your husband's hard-earned but superior immunity, btw) we have pretty much forgotten what the inside of a restaurant looks like and don't miss it. Our cooking skills have improved (love Azure - - - thanks for that tip!) and rather than continue to marinate in my toxic workplace I was in the fortunate position of being able to take early retirement. I totally appreciate that is not an option for many people, but will share that my health, while not bad, is definitely better.
On the cleaning front, I now make my own pine-scented water and vinegar cleaner. After a windstorm awhile ago I gathered up enough bits of fallen evergreen twigs with needles firmly attached, stuffed them loosely into a quart canning jar, covered with white vinegar, and let sit for a month. This gets added to a spray bottle: 50% pine vinegar and 50% water. It smells so good I look for excuses to clean stuff. And it cleans wonderfully well.
I just might woman-up and try the egg shampoo idea...
