Thanks for another good post! People tend to focus so much on material preparations that we often overlook the internal side of resilience. Mental preparation - getting comfortable with the idea that things may not continue along in the same way forever - is at least as important as any other kind.
It raises another good point, which is that dependence is counter to resilience. That can be dependence on fossil fuels or global supply chains. It can also be dependence on alcohol or pharmaceutical drugs. The fewer things you _need_ to get by from day to day, the better off you will be when things start getting scarce. So a big part of becoming resilient is not about fulfilling needs, but actually reducing or eliminating needs.
